PERFORMANCE LAB II.: AI ADVENTURE IN TRENČÍN
with Anikó Mazán and Rokko Juhász (HU and SK)

Are you young and technology is your world, yet you find yourself drawn to stories from the past? Or do you have a lifetime of memories, but the modern world of digital tools feels unfamiliar

We invite you to an AI Adventure — a unique bridge connecting two distinct worlds of technology and personal narratives. We will merge the fresh ideas of younger participants with the precious memories of the older generation. Together, we will learn how to communicate with artificial intelligence so that it writes texts for us, brings old photographs to life, or visualizes the future of Trenčín. In doing so, we will co-create artistic pieces that intertwine past and future.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

AI is a digital tool that learns to analyze, create, and simulate human thought processes based on human data. In this lab, we will treat it as a creative partner, communicating with it in natural language using simple written instructions (known as prompts).

What will the AI Adventure bring you?

  • Skills for life and career: You will master AI tools and prompt engineering, skills that are currently reshaping the world, and put them to good use in school or your career.
  • Bring family memories to life: Transform old photos of Trenčín and grandparents’ stories into stunning digital images and podcasts.
  • Bridge generations with a touch of humor: Discover how to connect and understand each other across age gaps, and finally clear up what is cringe and what is stafírung.
  • Create a lasting artwork for Trenčín: It won’t just stay hidden on a computer, together, we will create a unique community artwork for our city.

Who is this Lab for?

We invite everyone from 15 to 99+ years of age, regardless of any previous experience. It will be an exciting wrap-up of the summer for grandparents or parents and their teens (15+), for students, and for anyone across generations interested in preserving stories, intergenerational connection, or mastering AI tools effectively. This lab is for everyone who wants to spend the final days of their summer holidays doing something truly extraordinary.

What is Performance?

Performance is one of the diverse forms of action art. The artist doesn’t just create a piece to   exhibit, but actively involves themselves in it. The creation of the artwork often takes place directly with the involvement of those present — the audience — who frequently become direct participants in the creative process.
